Frequently asked questions
What do I need to open a brokerage account online?
Usually a valid citizen ID card, a phone number, an email address and a bank account in your name. Many firms let you verify your face (eKYC) to open an account online; each firm sets its own requirements.
What do stock trading fees include?
Brokerage fees are a percentage of each matched order’s value and differ between firms and service plans. When selling shares, individual investors also pay 0.1% personal income tax on the sale value. Each firm’s fee schedule lists its other charges.
What is a margin rate?
It is the interest you pay when you borrow from your brokerage to buy more shares (margin trading). Margin magnifies both gains and losses; read the margin ratio, eligible tickers and liquidation rules before using it.
Does StockCity earn a commission?
It may. When you open an account through a link on this page, the partner brokerage may pay StockCity a commission. The default order is not a recommendation; you can sort by fee or margin rate.
